Geology
IMA staff partnered with scientists from the US Geological Survey (USGS) to study the connections between the landscape of 100 Acres: The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park and the White River which forms the majority of the Park's border. What has been learned about this relationship aids in the understanding of how the landscape has changed and may change over time, how flooding affects the Art & Nature Park, how to estimate when flooding might occur using sensor data, and how our use of the land affects the river.
These pages are designed to share what we have learned with our visitors. Click a link to learn more.
