Benefits
The Indianapolis Museum of Art offers a benefits package to full-time employees, that includes health insurance, life insurance, paid vacation time, paid holidays, 401K plans and access to benefits for domestic partners. Part-time staff who work 20 hours or more are eligible for paid vacation and option time.
Internships
The IMA also offers internships for undergraduates and graduate students each year during the summer. Students selected to participate in the internship program will gain practical experience, marketable skills, and a broad exposure to museum work.

Internships
The Indianapolis Museum of Art Internship Program is designed to mentor future museum professionals by providing real-world learning experiences. Internships are available for undergraduate juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Internships are offered during fall and spring semesters, as well as in summer. Availability is dependent upon departmental requests. Interns are assigned to the museum departments that best suit their educational backgrounds, experience, and interests. Interns participate in the ongoing work of the department to which they are assigned and are expected to complete a project or some portion of a major project. Specific responsibilities are determined by the educational background and work experience of the intern, as well as the needs of the department. Interns are not paid, but can receive course credit.
