Fellowships and Residencies
The IMA often offers fellowship and residency opportunities. Fellowships support scholarly research related to the curatorial division of the Museum.
In Fall 2015, the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) will launch a printmaking residency coinciding with the exhibition Gustave Baumann, German Craftsman – American Artist. To facilitate an understanding of the woodblock printmaking process, the IMA will create a studio classroom within the larger exhibition gallery. The artist-in-residence (“artist”) will invite visitors to watch demonstrations of the woodblock carving and printing process during most exhibition hours. Additionally, the artist will encourage visitors to sign up for scheduled art-making experiences designed for all ages and abilities.
