The legendary Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel is the most famous and entrepreneurial of all women couturiers. She was among the first designers to create stylish clothes that were also practical and comfortable for the active modern women. She is famous for introducing many styles, among them her two- and three-piece suits and her simple creation that became known as the "little black dress."
This semicircular cape is adorned with hundreds of feathers dyed to match the fabric. The tiered arrangement of feathers creates a spectacular cape over-collar, which extends to form a scalloped, fringelike hem.
