Halston's first glittery pieces appeared in his 1973 collection. His simple silhouettes adorned with sophisticated beaded patterns associated glitter with taste and wealth. By 1978 all of Halston's beaded dresses were made India.

This dress, with raglan sleeves, sarong wrap skirt with a crossover closure and fish-tail back, is a classic Halston design. The Indian influence is evident in the use of mirrors.
