The graphic artist Harry Gordon designed five different dresses that became known as Poster Dresses. Treating the surface of the dress as a canvas, Gordon used one large photographic blow-up to cover the entire surface of each dress.

Poster Dresses sold for $3 and were all the same cut, a sleeveless A-line shift with one Velcro closure on the left shoulder seam.
