The Kleinberger gallery catalogue mentions that the painting was once in the collection of Baron Northwick and Reverend M. Collins but this has not been verified. The painting is possibly in Christie, Manson & Woods, London, A Catalogue of the Magnificent and Celebrated Gallery of Pictures, by Great Italian, Spanish, French and Dutch Masters of the Right Honourable Lord Northwick, 24-26 May 1838. The article by Oliver Bradbury and Nicholas Penny, "The Picture Collecting of Lord Northwick," Burlington Magazine 144, Nos. 1193 and 1195, 2002, pp. 485-496, 606-617, does not, however, mention this painting.{2} Jeu de Paume, Paris, Exposition rétrospective des grands et des petits maîtres hollandais du XViie siècle, 28 April to 10 July 1911, no. 84, with d'Aoust as owner.
