Three of Dr. Monro's four sons, Alexander, Henry and John, were adept at watercolor and their work provides a visual record of the village of Bushey in the early nineteenth century.

The inclusion of the boy on the pig exclaiming "How delightful t'is to be free" is an inexplicable curiosity.
