An open book is lit in a museum vitrine. Lines of "text" move across its pages, formed of repeated bodies marching in formation.

Having used footage of the border between Lebanon and her native Israel in previous work, Michal Rovner's indistinct forms against white backgrounds have subsequently been interpreted along themes of displacement and group identity. However, Notebook 2 is unattached to any specific language or historical narrative. This artifact suggests the multiplicity and ambiguity of communication systems and historical heritages.
