The weaver of this rug changed her mind after she wove the first row of motifs in the bottom of the field.

The design - alternating blocks of plant and geometric motifs - was changed to a simple all-over plant design. However, the weaver used the dyed black wool in the central vertical panel in the field, thus creating a unique rug.

Colonol Jeff W. Boucher, Alexandria, Virginia; given to Indianapolis Museum of Art (1996).
