A few unusual design features make this rug a rare type. Rows of "Turkmen style" güls filled with eight-pointed stars are placed on an unusually light red field. The major border, containing box-flowers, is unusual in rugs with this Turkmen design. The secondary border of linked diamonds with black crosses in the centers is rarely found in these rugs.
