Ru-korssis are flat-woven rugs used to cover a table under which a container with hot glowing charcoal is placed.
The majority of these weavings, which are square in shape, have a flat-woven (pileless) kilim center with very little ornamentation. The borders are woven with pile and are more elaborate than the center, which is usually covered with dishes and other objects during use.
