Berber weavings are known worldwide for their vibrant colors and rhythmic variations of geometric design elements. In almost all areas Berber weaving is a female art, often conducted in a communal fashion with other women. Textiles are made for practical purposes, for example, as furnishings for a house or tent, as items of personal dress or as horse blankets.
