Peruvian art was often related to sources of nourishment from the land, sea and rivers, such as the bowl of fruit.

A common vessel shape used in ancient Peru had a "stirrup-spout" handle, in which a center spout at the top is connected to the vessel by a pair of tubes curved like a horse's stirrup.
