Chodor girls were taught to sew at an early age and spent much of their time creating garments and other textiles for their wedding and dowry.
A very rare and fine example, this Turkmen wedding coat has a variety of delicate floral designs embroidered in an all-over pattern.
The coat is made of finely hand-spun and hand-woven wool and its brilliant color was achieved by the use of natural dyes.
