This wedding veil comprises three panels of brick-red cotton cloth sewn together lengthwise. Embroidery in orange silk floss completely covers the textile.

In India the color red is considered a good omen and orange symbolizes fertility.

These textiles are often embroidered by a girl's extended maternal family and given to her at the time of her marriage.
