Stout Reference Library is a FREE Wi-Fi hotspot!
The Stout Reference Library is a non-circulating research library that consists of thousands of resources on the visual arts including books, magazines & periodicals, museum publications, auction catalogs, artists‘ files, and online databases. The library collection focuses on the encyclopedic collection of the Indianapolis Museum of Art while also providing general information about art and art history of all periods.

The library houses more than 2,000 volumes, including general reference books and books on landscaping, specific plant families and horticulture. Now located in Newfield (former Better Than New Shop location), the library is a noncirculating collection open to the public. Horticultural Society Members may check out items.
IMA Archives

Formally established in 2010, the IMA Archives is comprised of over 1000 linear feet museum records, manuscripts, personal papers, ephemera, scrapbooks, photographs, videotapes, films, and artifacts which chronicle the history of the institution since its founding in 1883.
