Stout Reference Library is a FREE Wi-Fi hotspot!
The Stout Reference Library is a non-circulating research collection that consists of thousands of resources on the visual arts. The library collection focuses on the encyclopedic collection of the Indianapolis Museum of Art and is available to students, appraisers, collectors, researchers, docents, IMA staff and others who conduct research on the IMA collections and the visual arts in general. Educators may arrange to bring students to the library by contacting the head librarian at least one week in advance at 317-920-2647.
100,000 Volumes
The library‘s collection of approximately 100,000 volumes includes:
- Books and exhibition catalogues
- Magazines and journals
- Artist files, including more than 4,700 files on Indiana artists
- Catalogues from auction houses worldwide
Databases & Indexes
The library also subscribes to a number of electronic databases and indexes available to all visiting researchers.
