Dear Thornton, I was so heartened to see your flag piece. I too have been working with the American flag(a 9 foot long Valley Forge made flag) that I started to bleach, shred, applyhatch marks during the 2000 election. The hatch marks represented the votes that were stopped from counting that ultimately, illigitimately put Bush in office. Since then I have made several protest pieces with segmnts from that same flag. After President Obama was elected, I realized the flag meant something again! I proceeded to find all the remnants left of that same flag to reconstruct it with loving care. I call it "For the first time in my life I a really proud of my country!" Mr Dial, Soldier on! Jane Quartarone
