Daniel and I are currently in Spain, traveling to Madrid, Navalcarnero and Seville, shooting video, conducting interviews and making preparations for a trip during Holy Week to document at least one procession in conjunction with an upcoming, IMA organized exhibition called, Sacred Spain: Art and Belief in the Spanish World.
That’s right. We did it. We made blog t-shirts. We asked you for slogans, compiled all the ideas and then chose the cream of the crop for an IMA blog poll. If you recall, the top 5 slogans were:

I thought I would use my space on the blog this week to give you a sneak peek of the new website we are creating for the upcoming show, Power and Glory: Court Arts of China’s Ming Dynasty.
That sums it up. You can always tell how stressed out I am by how messy my desk is. To the untrained eye my desk might look pretty neat. But only I know that I have stuffed papers that ought to be filed into that little tray and I have five new projects with documents waiting for a file folder. (So maybe I am a little crazy with the organization…I think it keeps us all together in the long run.)

This is a super-busy time for the Nugget Factory and it just sort of happened. For a couple of days last week, Daniel was out of the office with Dan shooting some video in San Francisco for the upcoming show, Power and Glory: Court Arts of China’s Ming Dynasty. I found myself sitting at my desk, working at a normal pace…and bored out of my mind. Two days later, with the full factory back in action, things sort of erupted, with new tasks flying in at every angle. I have just finished an upload of a new set of Flickr images assembled by Andrea Mason, an IMA conservation intern. She worked this summer with a contracted furniture conservator named Mark Minor to return a sideboard by Eliel Saarinen to its original glory.
