Twitter inspirations, Woody Woodpecker and more from the IMA

Based on the title of this post, expect a lot of different things from me today.  Yesterday, in the midst of figuring out a post topic, I turned to Facebook & Twitter for topic suggestions.  Some people responded with some thoughtful concepts, so I want to address those in some ways.  “Woody Woodpecker” isn’t just being used as a clever title to get you to read my entry.  Keep reading, its relevant.  And I wanted to start with a quick shout out to On the Cusp, who just launched a new design for their site.   I like it and I think you will too.   Check out the new look and learn what’s going on in the local Indianapolis arts scene.

A quickie to advocate, “Click!” from the Brooklyn Museum

I forgot to plug this project in my post earlier today, so I am posting this short one. If you haven’t visited the Brooklyn Museum’s site to take part in Click! be sure you do it soon. An innovative crowd-curated exhibition, allows you to evaluate on-line submissions for the project. You only have until Friday, May 23rd to complete evaluations. So, don’t miss out!

Outside JuniorsI’ve got a few traditions I follow when I’m in New York – find the best possible cannoli, visit Chinatown to buy non-violent toy robots, see friends, drink $10 beers and now…always, always meet with Shelley Bernstein from the Brooklyn Museum.

Despi and I headed to Brooklyn to have lunch with Shelley at Juniors. [Quick side note: do you realize I ate cornbread, a fried chicken breast, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes with gravy?] The food was absolutely delicious and it was a chance to catch up with Shelley about museums, technology and our projects. It’s rare to spend time with someone that is so honest and open and willing to collaborate or share experiences. That is what Shelley has done at Brooklyn and it’s that same spirit that we try to follow in Indianapolis.
