<p><a title="Indianapolis International Film Festival Link" href="http://indyfilmfest.org/" target="_blank">Indianapolis International Film Festiva (IIFF)</a> &#8211; Only six years old and already pulling in some pretty notable films. <p>Phil’s Pharmacy prescribes the following links to combat Monday online anemia.</p>
<p><a title="100 Best Scholary Art Blogs" href="http://www.universityreviewsonline.com/2005/10/100-best-scholarly-art-blogs.html" target="_blank">100 Best Scholarly Art Blogs</a> &#8211; For what it&#8217;s worth, our little blog is on a top 100 list posted by University Reviews Online.  For what it&#8217;s even more worth, we&#8217;re sitting with some pretty good company e.g. <a title="Eye Level Blog Link" href="http://eyelevel.si.edu/" target="_blank">Eye Level</a>, <a title="Brooklyn Museum Bloggers Link" href="http://www.brooklynmuseum.org/community/blogosphere/bloggers/" target="_blank">Brooklyn Museum</a>, and <a title="Museum 2.0 Link" href="http://museumtwo.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Museum 2.0</a>. URO, thanks for the nod.</p>
<p><a title="The Art of the Brick Link" href="http://brickartist.com/" target="_blank">The Art of the Brick</a> &#8211; Art made from interesting materials is sure to catch my eye. Therefore, you know my eyes were totally caught when I saw that artist <a title="Nathan Sawaya Behance Link" href="http://www.behance.net/brickartist" target="_blank">Nathan Sawaya</a> has over 1.5 million Lego bricks in his New York studio that he uses to create sculptures like the ones found in his show, <em>The Art of the Brick</em>. Thanks to <a title="Abduzeedo Blog Link" href="http://abduzeedo.com/amazing-lego-art-nathan-sawaya" target="_blank">Abduzeedo.com</a> for the eye catcher.</p>
<p><a title="Speckyboy Design Magazine Link" href="http://speckyboy.com/" target="_blank">Speckyboy Design Magazine</a> &#8211; A slick design blog that frequently mentions techy things that I care about e.g. Twitter, <a title="Speckyboy Wordpress Link" href="http://speckyboy.com/2009/06/17/14-essential-wordpress-development-and-design-cheat-sheets/" target="_blank">Wordpress</a>, <a title="Speckyboy Drupal Blog Link" href="http://speckyboy.com/2009/06/24/40-professional-and-free-drupal-cms-themes/" target="_blank">Drupal</a>, <a title="Speckyboy RetroRobots Link" href="http://speckyboy.com/2009/06/15/45-incredible-retro-robot-inventions-built-with-everyday-trash/" target="_blank"><strong>robots built with trash</strong></a>, stop motion <a title="Speckyboy Lego films Link" href="http://speckyboy.com/2009/06/12/24-lego-stop-motion-films-mimicking-cool-movies-scenes/" target="_blank">Lego films</a>, etc. Check out this blog for tools and tips for your creative front and back ends.</p>

<p>Phil&#8217;s Pharmacy prescribes the following links to combat Monday online anemia.</p>
<p><a title="CoolHunting.com Link" href="http://www.coolhunting.com/" target="_blank">CoolHunting.com</a> &#8211; With its emphasis on &#8220;ideas and products in the intersection of art, design, culture and technology,&#8221; CoolHunting just may be the site I&#8217;ve always been looking for. New, neat, and interesting stuff is posted frequently and with a PageRank of 7, I&#8217;m totally stumped as to why I&#8217;ve never seen this site until now. As for some content on the site that I think is worth a look, I&#8217;m into <span>lighting artist, Marcus Tremonto&#8217;s <a title="Marcus Tremonto's CoolHunting Link" href="http://www.coolhunting.com/archives/2009/06/lighting_artist.php" target="_blank"><em>The Paper Landscapes</em></a></span> which reminds me of a little <a title="ACE Tara Donavan Link" href="http://www.acegallery.net/artistmenu.php?Artist=8" target="_blank">Tara Donovan</a> mixed with <a title="Google Image Search Tron Link" href="http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&amp;q=tron&amp;um=1&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;sa=N&amp;tab=wi" target="_blank">Tron</a> mixed with <a title="Portal Wikipedia Link" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_(video_game)" target="_blank">Portal</a>. <span>Also on CoolHunting, <a title="Ryan McGinness CoolHunting Link" href="http://www.coolhunting.com/archives/2009/03/ryan_mcginness_4.php" target="_blank">Ryan McGinness&#8217;s</a> recent show that I&#8217;m now only able to experience via the web.</span></p>
<p><a title="BluBlu.org Link" href="http://www.blublu.org/" target="_blank">blublu.org</a> &#8211; Home to a very cool stop motion animation film called <em><a title="MUTO Link" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuGaqLT-gO4" target="_blank">MUTO</a></em> that was created on regular old public walls. Street art mixed with stop motion is very satisfying.</p>
<p><a title="TweetingTooHard.com Link" href="http://tweetingtoohard.com/top" target="_blank">Tweetingtoohard.com</a> &#8211; I&#8217;m pretty self absorbed. However, I don&#8217;t think my Internet fans are able to tell that from my tweets. I should get on that. Until then, here&#8217;s a page with a stream of hilarious Twitter updates from users that Tweeting too Hard has identified as self important. A taste, &#8220;fan belt light came on in the <a title="Porsche 911 Wikipedia Link" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911" target="_blank">911</a> so now I&#8217;m driving the <a title="Cayenne Wikipedia Link" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_Cayenne">Cayenne Turbo S</a> &#8211; the backup, backup car. Trying not to think about the <a title="Tesla Roadster Wikipedia Link" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_Roadster" target="_blank">Tesla</a>&#8230;&#8221;</p>
<p><a title="Anni Rossi 4AD Link" href="http://www.4ad.com/anni-rossi/" target="_blank">Monday Music</a> &#8211; &#8220;Ecology&#8221; by Anni Rossi. She&#8217;s playing tonight at the <a title="Wexner Center for the Arts Link" href="http://www.wexarts.org/" target="_blank">Wexner Center for the Arts</a> with Camera Obscura. <p><a title="Wordwide Womenswear Digest" href="http://www.wwwwd.org/" target="_blank">Wordwide Womenswear Digest</a> &#8211; WWWWD is a webzine draped in a <em>satiny attire</em> that some people call the <em><a title="The Onion Link" href="http://www.theonion.com/content/index" target="_blank">Onion</a></em> of fashion news. I call it the perfect prescription for costume curators down in basements, <a title="Fashion Institute of Technology Link" href="http://www.fitnyc.edu/html/dynamic.html" target="_blank">FIT</a> dropouts turned librarians, and a childhood friend of mine that is about to pop out of <a title="Parsons.edu Link" href="http://www.parsons.edu/" target="_blank">Parsons</a>. Way to go, Jon! Thanks to local fashion blogs <em><a title="Haute in the Hearland Link" href="http://hauteintheheartland.blogspot.com/2009/06/hoosier-shout-out-in-wwwwd.html" target="_blank">Haute in the Heartland</a></em> and <em><a title="ballcaps and neckties Link" href="http://ballcapsandneckties.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">ballcaps and neckties</a></em> for the tip.</p>
<p><a title="Telegraph.co.uk Amazing iPhone Art Link" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/technology/picture-galleries/5559769/Amazing-iPhone-Art.html?image=3" target="_blank">Amazing iPhone Art</a> &#8211; I&#8217;m amazed.</p>
<p><a title="$20 Per Gallon YouTube Link" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlNSUkETExc" target="_blank">$20 Per Gallon</a> &#8211; A soon to be released book by a senior writer at <em>Forbes</em> named Christopher Steiner. The full title, <a title="$20 Per Gallon Amazon Link" href="http://www.amazon.com/20-Per-Gallon-Inevitable-Gasoline/dp/0446549541" target="_blank"><em>$20 Per Gallon: How the Inevitable Rise in the Price of Gasoline Will Change Our Lives</em></a> has stirred the green in me and makes me wonder what a sharp rise in energy prices would do to the museum world. Can&#8217;t wait for it to hit the library.</p>
<p><a title="Theo Jansen Wikipedia Link" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theo_Jansen" target="_blank">Theo Jansen</a> &#8211; Here&#8217;s an artist that could probably help out in an energy crisis. I&#8217;m thinking a commission from a kinetic sculptor with a penchant for wind power would look really good next to an <a title="IMA Dashboard Energy Star Cert Link" href="http://dashboard.imamuseum.org/node/560" target="_blank">Energy Star certification</a>. Check out one of Theo&#8217;s amazing wind powered creations on <a title="Theo Jansen YouTube Link" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcR7U2tuNoY" target="_blank">YouTube</a>.</p>
<p><a title="St Vincent Myspace Link" href="http://www.myspace.com/stvincent" target="_blank">Monday Music</a> &#8211; &#8220;The Strangers&#8221; by St. Vincent. <p style="text-align: left;"><a title="Kickstarter.com Link" href="http://www.kickstarter.com/" target="_blank">kickstarter.com</a> &#8211; Ever since Obama&#8217;s fundraising team popularized the idea of micro-donations, I&#8217;ve had my eye out for other charitable organizations that are trying to change up the donation game. &#8220;Kickstarter is a funding platform for artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians, journalists, inventors, bloggers, explorers&#8230;&#8221; that really has to be explored to be understood. I&#8217;m currently fascinated by the project/idea called &#8220;<a title="Kickstarter.com Link - Choose your own adventure" href="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ryan/choose-your-own-adventure-a-robot-painting-series" target="_blank">Choose your own adventure &#8211; a robot painting series.</a>&#8220;</p>
<p><a title="SlowFoodIndy.com Link" href="http://www.slowfoodindy.com/" target="_blank">SlowFoodIndy.com</a> &#8211; Last Wednesday I took a couple of new recruits down to the City Market&#8217;s farmer&#8217;s market and did a little street team work. We handed out a grip of <a title="European Design Since 1985 Link" href="http://www.imamuseum.org/exhibitions/european-design/" target="_blank"><em>European Design Since 1985</em></a> rack cards and were handed a few pieces of literature in return. One such piece was a flier for Slow Food Indy. From what I can tell, Slow is a blog that is chock full of interesting news and resources related to local food production and being green. Slow also turned me on to the <a title="Hoosier Gardener Link" href="http://hoosiergardener.com/" target="_blank">Hoosier Gardener</a> blog which I recommend for our readers with green thumbs.</p>
<p><a title="&quot;Nose Art&quot; Google Search" href="http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&amp;q=nose+art&amp;um=1&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;ei=WR4tSqiQO4iJtgfDooTLCA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=image_result_group&amp;resnum=1&amp;ct=title" target="_blank">Nose Art</a> &#8211; This time of year, seasonal allergies always stir up the hatred my throat feels for my nose. Given sore tonsils and the recent rememberance of <a title="Normandy Landings Wikipedia Link" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normandy_Landings" target="_blank">D-Day</a>, I recommend <a title="Historic Wings Nose Art Link" href="http://www.historicwings.com/features98/noseart/" target="_blank">Historic Wings</a> for your WWII nose art fix and a cocktail of zinc, vitamin C, and cough syrup to combat post nasal drip.</p>

<p><a title="Information Week Bing.com Link" href="http://www.informationweek.com/news/internet/search/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=217700944&amp;subSection=News" target="_blank">Bing.com</a> &#8211; Over the weekend, Microsoft launched a new search product called <a title="Bing.com Link" href="http://www.bing.com/" target="_blank">Bing</a>. Supposedly, Bing should excel at helping users with &#8220;<span id="articleBody">making a purchase decision, trip planning, finding local businesses and researching health conditions.&#8221; It looks like Bing can help me the next time I need to find a neighborhood apothecary to sell me a secret syrup that will take care of the cough I picked up on vacation.</span></p>
<p><a title="Brooklyn Museum iPhone Applicaton - BM Blog Link" href="http://www.brooklynmuseum.org/community/blogosphere/bloggers/2009/05/31/brooklyn-museum-api-the-iphone-app-released-on-itunes/" target="_blank">Brooklyn Museum Mobile Collection iPhone App</a> &#8211; Well done Brooklyn! iPhone users, download this app to browse and search the Brooklyn Museum&#8217;s collection. It&#8217;s still a young lil&#8217; app so help their developers out and leave feedback on their blog about your experience. As Daniel hinted, we&#8217;re working on <a title="Some Summer IMA Plans - Tap Tour" href="http://www.imamuseum.org/blog/2009/05/28/some-ima-summer-plans/" target="_blank">one</a> of our own.</p>

And while 101 painters are way too many for this ad man to keep handy on a cheat sheet, this page is a fun rundown of some of the names I should probably know. If you&#8217;re into lists, <a title="Listverse Link" href="http://listverse.com/" target="_blank">here&#8217;s a list of lists</a>&#8230;<br />

<p><a title="but does it float link" href="http://butdoesitfloat.com/" target="_blank">but does it float</a> &#8211; Another curated blog for your enjoyment. Today&#8217;s <a title="Ed Ruscha bdif Link" href="http://butdoesitfloat.com/25650" target="_blank">exhibition</a> is a set of photographs from <a title="Ed Ruscha Wikipedia Link" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Ruscha" target="_blank">Ed Ruscha</a>. I like &#8216;em. Oh, and on a nerdy technical level, the built in autoload feature when you get to the end of the page is super slick.</p>
<p><a title="Twitter Tools for Business Link" href="http://www.businesspundit.com/10-essential-twitter-tools-for-business/" target="_blank">Twitter Tools for Business</a> &#8211; For the time being, Twitter is important to the people on the Internet. If you tweet and are interested in augmenting your tweeting capabilities, check out this top ten list. It&#8217;s no surprise to me that Tweetdeck and Tweetie for iPhone are on the list. However, OutTwit is a new one for me and may have my IT guy hook me up.</p>
<p>New Media Round Up &#8211; If you like turntables and the possibility of getting hit with virtual spittle from a beatboxing dog, check out <a title="Beatbox Link" href="http://www.beatbox.tele2.se/" target="_blank">Beatbox</a> (thanks <a title="Kate's Profile Link" href="http://www.imamuseum.org/blog/author/kfranzman/" target="_blank">Kate</a>). Muppet fans should definitely check this one out of Beaker performing <a title="Beaker Performs &quot;Ode to Joy&quot; on YooouuuTuuube" href="http://www.yooouuutuuube.com/v/?rows=20&amp;cols=20&amp;id=xpcUxwpOQ_A&amp;startZoom=1" target="_blank">&#8220;Ode to Joy.&#8221;</a></p>
