Phil’s Pharmacy

Phil’s Pharmacy prescribes the following links to combat Monday online anemia.

Workstations of Popular Websites – Sometimes it’s fun to see where an artist creates their art. Similarly, sometimes it’s fun to see the spaces where web-content creators create their web content.

Aptera 2e Electric Car – Pixar fans ghost-ride the whip. Can anyone else see see Wall-e and Eva getting out of this ride? Three wheels? Less friction I guess and therefore more efficient. Now, if only Google would partner with a California based company on hoverboards.

Kern – If you’ve got an iPhone and love typography, check out this cool game. “The iPhone’s first design-nerd game.” – Boing Boing Offworld.

Wordle.net – Word clouds are floating in from everywhere and with this fun site you can form your own. Here’s one I made. Enjoy!

European Design Facebook Contest – The week three winner has been selected. Up is the new picture.

European Design Symposium – With a brand new price of just $100 for the public and $50 for students, this deal is just too good not to recommend. I’m going just to hear Rolf Fehlbaum talk about chairs. Check this blurb of the official blurb…

“Join designers, critics, scholars, manufacturers, dealers and students for a lively examination of the present and future of European decorative and industrial design,”

Anyway, Friday and Saturday, March 6 & 7, don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from European design masters such as Alberto Alessi and Michele De Lucchi. It should rule.

Bacolicio.us – By way of the newest New Media member, Kate, comes this pork modification. While this pharmacist is generally meat-free, bacon on a website is pretty funny.

Sketching with Ketchup – By way of Matt comes this demo that uses meat sandwich accessories and sugar infused tomato squeezings.

European Design Facebook Contest – Week one’s winner has been selected. Up is the new picture!

Phil’s Pharmacy prescribes the following links to combat Monday online anemia.

Groundhog.org – Bah! Six more weeks of winter. Like the “Saw” series of movies, I would like to see a “Groundhog Day” movie every year.

Digital Collections of IUPUI – A person could really “geek out” over some of this stuff. For example, some of us are interested in the architecture down in Columbus, IN. Show me all the blueprints. For those of you looking for a little more content after seeing  our Wishard Murals exhibition, check out this scrapbook. For our horticultural/bird watching readers, check out this publication. Thanks to all those involved in this project and keep up the good work. I could look at this stuff for hours.

Gigapan.org – Wow! Gigapan uses Flash to let users really take a closer look at images in the gigapixel range. This one, of Barack’s innauguration, is particularly interesting. Do you see anyone sleeping?

Drawminos.com – Take a break and pretend you’re learning about physics. Who had Domino Rally?

WIN TICKETS!

We are giving away tickets to “European Design since 1985: Shaping the New Century,” the new show about contemporary design opening at the IMA on March 8th, 2009.

Every Monday, until the opening of “European Design Since 1985,” we will post a picture from the exhibition website gallery as our profile picture on Facebook. Your job, once you become our Facebook fan, is to post funny captions or titles about the image on our wall. The following Monday, the fan with the best captions or titles will receive 2 free tickets to the exhibition.
