Phil’s Pharmacy

Phil’s Pharmacy prescribes the following links to combat Monday online anemia.

Groundhog.org – Bah! Six more weeks of winter. Like the “Saw” series of movies, I would like to see a “Groundhog Day” movie every year.

Digital Collections of IUPUI – A person could really “geek out” over some of this stuff. For example, some of us are interested in the architecture down in Columbus, IN. Show me all the blueprints. For those of you looking for a little more content after seeing  our Wishard Murals exhibition, check out this scrapbook. For our horticultural/bird watching readers, check out this publication. Thanks to all those involved in this project and keep up the good work. I could look at this stuff for hours.

Gigapan.org – Wow! Gigapan uses Flash to let users really take a closer look at images in the gigapixel range. This one, of Barack’s innauguration, is particularly interesting. Do you see anyone sleeping?

Drawminos.com – Take a break and pretend you’re learning about physics. Who had Domino Rally?

WIN TICKETS!

We are giving away tickets to “European Design since 1985: Shaping the New Century,” the new show about contemporary design opening at the IMA on March 8th, 2009.

Every Monday, until the opening of “European Design Since 1985,” we will post a picture from the exhibition website gallery as our profile picture on Facebook. Your job, once you become our Facebook fan, is to post funny captions or titles about the image on our wall. The following Monday, the fan with the best captions or titles will receive 2 free tickets to the exhibition.

Whitehouse.gov – We the people have a redesign. Macon Phillips, Director of New Media for the White House,  has taken change and applied it to the Fed’s main web outlet. This slick new site has quick links to video, a new blog, and contact information. For those that don’t remember the old site, check it.

Handmade Bicycle Show – This February, Indianapolis will host an event for bike enthusiasts and artists. Bikes with an art slant? This IMA employee and bike-ist will be there for sure. Oh, and a clown holding a U-Lock is clownin’.

Inhabit.com – Check out this green-design blog and get ready for us to host, “Shaping a New Century,” a design symposium that will bring world-class designers to Indianapolis for two days in March. With “green-ness” always in mind, this IMA employee is particularly interested in this transformation.

ILoveYouMoreThanBlank – By way of the lovely Emily, comes this early Valentine’s day treat.

Abduzeedo.com – I’ve been checking this design blog for the last week on recommendation from a design buddy of mine. Their “Daily Inspiration” series is how I’ve been starting my design day.

Arts Admin – Here’s a secret. I test Monday morning interns with, “What’s your favorite website?” According to our newest intern from Indiana University, this blog is worth reading. With the first post I ever see from here being about Whit Stillman and his witty movies, I believe her.

Knowledge Generation Bureau – Saw this on the television last night and thought it was weird. A new viral campaign? Who would want to be attached to anything KGB (me I guess)? Doesn’t the Moon have an eccentric orbit?

Julie Blackmon – This photographer popped up after talking to a friend of mine the other day about the funny stuff humans and their companions do in their houses. What came to iPhone camera was a foothill of bathing towels. Laundry time.
