On Procession: In the Streets
Saturday, April 26, 2008 / Noon
Fountain Square, Downtown Indianapolis
Visit the On Procession Web site.
Processionals are distinguished from parades in that they are interactive marches, rather than straightforward displays performed for an audience. Of primary importance to the On Procession exhibition was the accompanying "Art Parade," a processional which invited a broad participation from national and local artists and the community-at-large. This festive event took place in Indianapolis' Fountain Square neighborhood and included floats, music, and dancing.
