The objects in To Live Forever: Egyptian Treasures from the Brooklyn Museum are more than exquisite examples of ancient art. Many of the objects functioned to serve and honor the gods. Other pieces were made to provide an individual with an eternal afterlife. This talk by Dr. Emily Teeter, research associate and Egyptologist at the University of Chicago’s Oriental Institute, will help you decipher the forms, meanings and functions of a wide range of Egyptian art.
