Fight Club (R 1999, DVD)
Directed by David Fincher, starring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter
Running Time: 139 mins.
Edward Norton plays a lonely, insomniac salesman who finds solace in attending support groups for everything from alcohol addiction to cancer victims. When he meets soap salesman Tyler Durden, the two create an underground fight club, a secret society of men who relieve their inner tensions by hitting one another. Throughout the film Durden’s society evolves with a philosophy that is both visceral and violent, and ultimately anarchic.
