Linha de Passe (dir. Walter Sells and Daniela Thomas, Brazil, 2008, 113 mins.)

A pregnant single mother works as maid for a middle-class family, while her four sons, each from a different father, navigate urban life in Sao Paulo. Over time, each brother experiences new deceptions and expectations while the family fights to survive. The film received honors for best actress at the Cannes and Havana Film Festivals in 2008. In Portuguese with English subtitles; film shown in DVD. Film recommended for ages 16 and older.
