In his dream-like sculptures and installations, multimedia artist Nick Cave uses textiles and clothing as sensory expressions of ritual and masquerade. Best known for his SOUNDSUITS, full-body sculptures with ethnographic flair made of found materials such as bottle caps, Cave chairs the Department of Fashion and Design at The School of The Art Institute in Chicago. He visits the IMA to screen two video works and discuss his life’s work as designer, sculptor and performer.
