Scott Stack's painting displays a linear geometry of thin, even bands of varying shades of green. While his subject matter is minimally presented, it is not abstract: a Modernist apartment building seen as if through night vision goggles. Such architecture is associated more with the utopian project of the Bauhaus school than with the military technology that night vision surveillance brings to mind.

Other works from Stack's "Night Vision" series feature subjects as broad in range as an airplane, the site of Diana, Princess of Wales' car crash, and Chicago's Buckingham Fountain. Stack's artwork questions the meaning of seeing in contemporary America, where much of life may be experienced through the mediation of a screen.
