A collage of pink petunias decorates the surface of this dress. The dress, a simple shift, is divided into three sections. A lengthened waist begins below the bust and drops below the natural waistline, a detail that is emphasized by the addition of a thin belt.

Givenchy was famous for his classic designs and deceptively simple day dresses. He was a favorite among American manufacturers because his creations were easily adaptable for mass-market production.
