In 1960, Marc Bohan replaced Yves Saint Laurent, who became chief designer after Dior's death. Bohan, who designed for the house until 1989, closely adhered to Dior's design principles.  He was also credited with turning pop fashion into high fashion.

This evening gown is reminiscent of the Y-line, introduced by Dior in 1955. In the center of the dress there is a subtle Y created by seaming. The dress has a tubular silhouette with emphasis at the shoulders. The asymmetrical collar and bow are classic designs of Christian Dior.
