Bonnard's portfolio of color lithographs, Several Aspects of Parisian Life, presents twelve random observations that sum up the unique atmosphere and irrepressible vitality of the French capital in the 1890s.

While Bonnard had previous experience with lithography, he drew this set on transfer paper, which the professional printer, Auguste Clot, transferred to the lithographic stones for printing.

This portfolio marked Vollard's first publishing venture.  Its financial failure did not dissuade him from a stream of future print projects.
