Moschino, known for his irreverence regarding the fashion system, pokes fun at one of couture’s most famous designers, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. Using immaculate construction, he imitates the classic Chanel suit but juxtaposes discordant imagery to create a humorous work. The cow, adorned with a ribbon bow in the colors of the Italian flag, was one of the memorable “faces” that launched Moschino’s publicity campaigns.
