IMA Summer Camps 2014

Play, imagine, discover, create. Participate in a weeklong arts adventure. Visit internationally recognized permanent collections, exciting exhibitions, an early 20th century estate, 152 acres of gardens and grounds, and an outdoor art and nature park. Learn alongside an accomplished team of educators. Experiment with traditional and non-traditional materials, make a portfolio of work to take home, and share your work with your family during an end of the week exhibition. Activities are designed to accommodate your child’s educational and artistic needs. Be sure to register early! Space is limited.

  • Camps are designed for children ages 5 to 16

Camps for ages 5 – 7

Suggested for campers entering grades K - 2
These camps are SOLD OUT! To be placed on a waiting list, please email your name, the class name, and a daytime telephone number to imasummercamp@imamuseum.org.

Mini sessions allow our youngest campers to spend a whole or a half day at the IMA. Programs focus on foundational art activities, gallery art hunts, stories, themed games, outdoor adventures, making new friends, building self-confidence, and much more.

Camps for ages 8 – 10

Suggested for campers entering grades 3 - 5
$170 Members | $210 Non-members per session

Campers will discover a world of creativity, artistic expression, art appreciation, and imagination.

Camps for ages 11 – 13

Suggested for campers entering grades 6 - 8
$170 Members | $210 Non-members per session

Campers will discover a world of creativity, artistic expression, art appreciation, and imagination.

Camps for ages 14 – 16

Suggested for students entering grades 9 - 11
$170 Members | $210 Non-members per session

Students will discover a world of creativity, artistic expression, art appreciation, and imagination.

Extended Hours

Available weekly | 4 – 5:30 pm
$10 per week
Continue the fun with Extended Hours! Ages 5 through 16 are invited to stay late to participate in structured activities, tours, behind the scenes discoveries, play outside, spend time in the Star Studio, and much more. Snack is included. Be sure to register early! Space is limited.

General Information

Registration Process
Registration begins on Monday, February 17 at 10 am. Register online or call 317-920-2679. Class sizes are limited to 15 participants, and registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Camp Fees
Tuition is due in full at the time of registration. All campers are eligible for a full refund 30 days in advance of the program. During the week of camp, refunds will only be issued for campers who are ill or face a family emergency, and the fee will be prorated. Camp sessions are subject to cancellation if there is insufficient enrollment. In the event of a cancellation, campers will be notified and refunded in full.

Pick Up and Drop Off
Pick Up and Drop Off occurs in the studio classrooms.

  • Campers, ages 5 to 13 must be signed in and out, by a grown-up, daily. Campers will be released only to those individuals listed on your Pick-Up form.
  • Campers arriving before 8:45 am must be accompanied by a grown-up and will be asked to wait outside of the classroom.
  • Campers must be picked up by 4 pm. Campers who are enrolled in the Extended Hours Program, must be picked up by 5:30 pm. A late fee of $3 per child is assessed for every five minutes of tardiness.

Lunch
Campers staying for a full day of camp will need to pack a lunch and afternoon snack Monday through Friday. Lunch is supervised by the teaching staff.

Camper Exhibition
On Fridays, friends and family are welcome to join campers for a special exhibition of their artwork. Campers will exhibit work inside the Multi-Purpose Room. All work will be sent home at the end of the exhibition.
