The IMA offers a variety of after-school and out-of-school programs. No need for students to be bored when school is out of session! The IMA continues to build opportunities for young people to connect with art and unleash their creative side.
Throughout the school year the IMA offers students the opportunity to explore the IMA’s collections and express their creativity, all after the school day ends. Students from participating schools visit the museum with a teacher representative from their school and work with an IMA teaching artist to create artwork inspired by the museum’s collections and grounds. Students enjoy interdisciplinary experiences that develop their creative problem solving skills and help them express ideas through visual art. At the end of the five-week program, students and their families are invited to a special celebration of the students’ work.
