Thanks to a generous capital gift from The Indianapolis Star, the IMA offers the interactive, hands-on gallery: Star Studio. Star Studio engages visitors of all ages in the world of art by offering direct access to working artists, in the spirit of experimentation and fun. Star Studio visitors can experience exciting art materials and techniques, and participate in the creation of art.

Installations are selected and designed to engage visitors of all ages in the power of play and creative problem-solving, often through participation. In the adjacent studio, visitors can assist IMA staff with a work in progress or use provided materials to make their own works of art to take home or leave for display.

Admission to Star Studio is free. Star Studio is located on Gallery Level 1, at the north end of the Pulliam Great Hall.
