Make & Take
Each month, drop by the Star Studio Classroom to find new art-making projects inspired by works of art on view at the IMA. Projects are designed to be accessible and fun for museum visitors of all ages and all levels of art-making experience.
October / A Hair Raising Event
Draw a spooky self-portrait. Make your hair stand on end using a straw and watercolor paint. Scare your friends and family when your composition is complete.
November / Colossal Collage
Inspired by the work of famous artist, Georgia O’Keeffe, create an enormous three-dimensional flower. Layer a variety of decorative papers to make each petal unique.
December / Snow Day
Check out the Caldecott winning book, Snow. Using tape and a sheet of paper, design a wintry landscape. Then, paint and peel away the tape to reveal the beauty beneath.
