Days of Heaven
(1978, dir. Terrence Malick, 94 mins., USA, PG)
In 1910, after accidentally killing his boss, a hot-headed Chicago steelworker flees to Texas with his girlfriend and little sister, where they find work in the fields of a stoic farmer. A love triangle, a swarm of locusts, hellish fire—Malick captures it all with dreamlike authenticity, creating a restless, American idyll in shades of gold and blue.
This film is part of the 2013 Winter Nights Film Series.
