Garden for Everyone
Designed to be appealing to all people, regardless of physical limitations, this garden is wheelchair accessible. The plantings are selected and presented in such a way as to be a multisensory experience. Visitors find fragrance in the garden from February through November, with foliage that is soft to the touch and grasses that make a rustling sound as they sway in the wind. A bronze sculpture, titled LaHermana del Hombre Boveda (Sister of the Vault Man) sits atop a small fountain in the center of the garden, and this too plays a part in the sensory experience. The granite inscription from Antoine de Saint Exupery sums up this experience, “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
If one is looking for a place to excite the senses or simply desires a quiet bench on which to have lunch, this is the perfect spot.
