Q: The drawing that I submitted is no longer on the site. Why?
A: If you suspect a technical problem prevented successful uploading, please contact the site administrator. The IMA reserves the right to remove any drawings that are deemed obscene, vulgar, pornographic, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory or otherwise violates any local or federal laws.
Q: Why does my drawing look different?
A: Drawings may appear to be cropped in the thumbnails; please click on thumbnails for the full image. For best results, we recommend submitting a landscape/horizontal drawing. If your drawing still doesn't look right, click here to email us and we will do our best to help.
Q: Can I submit more than one drawing?
A: You can submit as many drawings as you like throughout the competition and can be eligible for multiple prizes each month. At the beginning of each month (October, November, December, and January), our jury will select three winners from the previous month's submissions. Submit new drawings each month to increase your chances of winning.
Q: How will I know if I won?
A: Winners will be notified by email.
Q: Do I retain the rights to the drawing that I submit?
A: The copyright of each drawing submitted for this contest remains with the respective entrant. However, each entrant agrees to grant to the IMA a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual license to feature any or all of the submitted drawings in any of its publications, its websites, and/or in any promotional or exhibition material connected to this contest or other future uses as the IMA determines. Each entrant will also permit the IMA to use his or her name in connection with his or her drawing.
Q: Will my entry be searchable online outside of the contest site?
A: Once you submit your entry, it will be publicly available on the Internet and may be indexed by search engines.
Q: I am under the age of 18. Can I submit a drawing and participate in the competition?
A: The contest is offered and open to people of all ages who are legal residents of the United States of America (except for Arizona, Florida, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont) for the duration of the contest. Submissions by children under the age of 13 will require parent or guardian consent. Such consent is presumed with the provision of a parent’s or guardian’s email address.
Q: I am an IMA employee. Can I submit a drawing and participate in the competition?
A: Employees, independent contractors, officers, directors, vendors, and legal advisors of the IMA, and the immediate family members and persons living in the same household of such persons, are not eligible to win prizes. Persons in this group are still allowed to submit drawings to the contest website.
Q: We're from Arizona, Florida, New York, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Why can't we enter the competition?
A: These states have legal regulations in place that prevent their residents from participating in contests of skill, such as this one.
Q: Do I have to be a U.S. citizen to participate in the competition?
A: No, you do not need to be a U.S. citizen, but you have to be a legal U.S. resident for the duration of the contest.
