JACK Quartet

The Toby

JACK Quartet electrifies audiences worldwide with "explosive virtuosity" (Boston Globe) and "viscerally exciting performances" (New York Times). David Patrick Stearns (Philadelphia Inquirer) proclaimed their performance as being "among the most stimulating new-music concerts of my experience."

JACK will explore early 14th century Renaissance motets and a sonic wonderland of modern quartets by Ligeti, Lutoslawski and closing with Xenakis’ “riotous celebration of sound”, Tetras. A live recording of JACK’s performance in London at Wigmore Hall of the Ligeti Quartet No. 2, Tetras and other works was released last year.

Join Krzysztof Urbanski, Music Director of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, for a special pre-concert talk at 6:45 pm.

Presented by The Ensemble Music Society and the IMA.

This engagement of JACK Quartet is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest, which is generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional contributions from the Indiana Arts Commission.
