Tours
The IMA offers regularly scheduled tours of the permanent collections daily for all visitors. Special tours highlighting exhibitions and events are also offered. Read about our tour offerings below or download all of the upcoming May tours (pdf).
Group tours and school group tours tailored to your specific interests can be arranged for adults and children, prices vary. Please fill out a request form.
Daily Permanent Collection Tours
Free guided tours of the Indianapolis Museum of Art's collections are offered daily. Meet on the second floor to the right of the Welcome Desk.

Family Tours
30 minute tours for children of all ages. Second and fourth Saturday each month at 1:30 & 2:30 pm. View the topics for upcoming months.
Garden Tours
Free guided garden walks are offered Saturdays and Sundays at 1 pm, from the beginning of April through the end of October. Meet at the main visitor entrance to Lilly House. Weather permitting. The gardens and grounds are open from dawn until dusk.
Lilly House Tours
Lilly House tours are every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm, April through December.
Join a docent in the Lilly House lobby for a guided tour of this American County Place Era home of the late Indianapolis businessman, philanthropist, and collector J.K. Lilly, Jr. The house with eight historic furnished interiors reflecting the early 1930s, is the centerpiece of Oldfields, a 26-acre National Historic Landmark estate with a landscape and gardens designed by Olmsted Brothers. Meet in the Lilly House Lobby.
100 Acres: The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park Tours
On Saturdays and Sundays at noon, (March through October), take an hour-long art and nature-focused tour of 100 Acres.
Tours will meet at Lake Terrace. More information available here.
Prearranged Adult Group Tours
Adult Group Tours can be arranged for groups with at least 10 members. Tours are led by trained educators who engage participants and stimulate discussion. Each tour lasts approximately one hour and can be tailored to meet a variety of interests. All group tours should be scheduled at least three weeks in advance. More Information
Prearranged School Tours
The IMA invites students and educators to use its exhibitions, collections, grounds and programs as extensions of classroom learning. No matter what the area of study, the IMA offers spectacular resources, many designed to meet Indiana Academic Standards and available free of charge, for learning about our world and the people in it.
