Serenity Kazuyuki Ohtsu 2015 Wall Calendar
For forty years Kazuyuki Ohtsu (b. 1935) served as an assistant to Kiyoshi Saitō, a woodblock artist at the forefront of the sōsaku hanga (creative print) movement. Breaking tradition practiced by virtually every other Japanese printmaker who preceded them, sōsaku hanga artists handled every step of print production—they painted the original pictures, carved the woodblocks, and self-published the prints. As demonstrated by the twelve works reproduced in this calendar, Ohtsu’s prints are poetic contemplations, drawing us into lovely, tranquil scenes of natural beauty and harmony.
Twelve monthly grids and full-color artwork. Printed with soy-based inks on FSC® certified paper. Dimensions: 12 x 13 in.; opens to 12 x 26 in.
