Visit the Star Studio classroom each Saturday from noon-4 pm. Work with a teaching artist to create a work of art inspired by the permanent collection. Projects change frequently and are designed to be accessible and fun for museum visitors of all ages and levels of experience making art.

Self-Guided Art Making

Star Studio is designed to provide visitors of all ages and abilities the opportunity to participate in hands-on art making experiences related to the IMA’s special exhibitions. During regular Museum hours, grab a seat in the Star Studio and create your own work of art to take home.
