Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: Speaking of Love

Throughout Museum

Hear Indianapolis writers, poets, singers, and artists speaking of love in the galleries as we remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy of speaking truth and love to powers that sought to divide humanity based on fear and prejudices. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to step up to the mic and share their own expressions of love. Participate in a social art experiment and bring letters or notes that comfort, encourage, uplift, compliment or motivate and give them to people you don’t know. Got writer’s block? Indiana Writers Center staff and volunteers will be on hand to help you craft a message. Uncomfortable meeting new people? Know No Stranger will help you break the ice.

Special thanks to our program partners: Douglas Morris of Old SOUL Entertainment, Indiana Writers Center, Radio One and Know No Stranger.

IMA’s ARTx Series is made possible by a gift from The Efroymson Family Fund.
