Get up close and personal with birds in 100 Acres: The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park during this special bird banding demonstration by John Schaust, Chief Naturalist at Wild Birds Unlimited, Inc. Watch as Schaust uses harmless techniques to capture birds—including goldfinches, titmouse, and Downy woodpeckers—then collects data and bands the birds with uniquely numbered bracelets. Banding is an indispensable technique for studying the movement, survival and behavior of songbirds and other birds.

Meet at Ruth Lilly Visitors Pavilion in 100 Acres.
