Join the 2013 Spirit & Place Festival on opening night as daring projects that re-shape the notion of race in Central Indiana are put to the test in a competition for a $20,000 award. Presenters include Javier Barrera – Latino Youth Collective, Pete Hylton – IUPUI School of Engineering & Technology, Motorsports Engineering Program, Danicia Malone – Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, and DeShong Perry-Smitherman – A Girl’s Gift, Inc. Projects are wide-ranging and include documentaries, interactive websites, crowd-sourced photo exhibits, confession booths, facilitated conversations, digital billboards, one-to-one mentoring, and more.
