Maxwell Anderson, The Melvin & Bren Simon Director and CEO of the IMA, will engage in a lively dialogue with one of the leading architects and designers today: Greg Lynn, a principal of the firm Greg Lynn FORM. Lynn is a pioneer at the intersection of computing, design and architecture. In 2008, he was named the Venice Biennale Golden Lion recipient; and in 2005, Forbes named him one of the top 10 trendsetters in architecture. Lynn has taught at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at UCLA since 1996, as well as serving as visiting professor at Yale and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. His work has been exhibited in major shows in Venice, Tel Aviv, and Los Angeles, and he is author of seven publications on contemporary architecture. Lynn’s work is represented in the collections of SFMoMA, Centre Pompidou, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. Lynn and Anderson will discuss the impact of new technologies from the aerospace, naval, automotive and entertainment industries on architecture and design.
Presented by the Design Arts Society of the IMA and the Indianapolis AIA and made possible by the Evans Woollen Memorial Lecture Fund.
