Teen Arts Council
Now accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year. Applications are due by May 14, 2017.
The Indianapolis Museum of Art Teen Arts Council is a professional development opportunity for local teens and is part of an initiative to enhance the IMA’s relationship with teenage audiences. The IMA Teen Arts Council has 13 members from 7 different schools in central Indiana (read bios). All students share a common passion for art and have a variety of specializations and interest areas, including classical music, dance, graphic design, calligraphy and watercolor painting.
The Teen Arts Council provides on-the-job training for students who have an interest in pursuing a career in the arts. Council members have the opportunity to collaborate with IMA staff in brainstorming sessions and planning meetings and receive a behind the scenes look at how we develop programming and exhibitions.
The Council serves as a focus group for potential future programs and contributes suggestions to add more teen-friendly elements to existing programs.
The IMA Teen Arts Council is supported by Bob and Toni Bader and a grant from The Indianapolis Foundation, a CICF affiliate.
